Piping Plover Baking Company is a mother/daughter owned and operated baking business. Erin and Hanako work side-by-side as an amazing team. Working together they bring you the most delicious gluten-free and vegan cookies imaginable
Erin grew up as her grandmother Martha’s shadow, who taught her the science of baking and the art of touching people’s lives. Erin believes there is nothing more rewarding than sharing something that you’ve baked and shining a little sunshine into someone’s day. After 25 years of baking professionally, she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease requiring her to give up gluten – no easy task for a baker! Finding substitutes for her favorite sweet treats became a mission, and so the baking marathon began. In 2019, she established Piping Plover Baking Company. Local farmers markets revealed that there is a need for tasty treats for those with dietary restrictions. By providing gluten-free and vegan bakery items, more people can enjoy a sweet treat during their day.
From a young age, Hanako learned the magic of connection through food. By making and enjoying delicious food, she grew to understand its power in creating and deepening relationships. Hanako knows that enjoying a treat will make anyone’s day better, but the best is when you can enjoy it alongside a loved one, no matter their dietary restrictions. Hanako pursued a degree in marketing in search of a way to tie creativity into a business career. This began a journey of marketing positions in the culinary industry. She now brings her experience and passion to Piping Plover Baking Company.
